On July 6th 1985, a memorial stone to the Welsh patriot D.J Williams of Fishguard, was unveiled on the Golden Mile. The stone was commissioned by the local Merched Y Wawr and Cymrodorion Socities, and  paid for by voluntary subscriptions.

The stone was carved by Fishguard artist Vicky Craven who had spent more that a thousand hours carving the memorial from a two ton gatepost “rescued” from Caersegan Farm, St Nicholas.

Ar Orffennaf 6ed 1985, dadorchuddiwyd carreg goffa i’r gwladgarwr Cymreig D.J Williams o Abergwaun, yn Y Wesh. Comisiynwyd y garreg gan Gymdeithasau Merched Y Wawr a’r Cymrodorion lleol, a thalwyd amdani drwy danysgrifiadau gwirfoddol.

Cerfiwyd y garreg gan yr artist Vicky Craven o Abergwaun oedd wedi treulio mwy na mil o oriau yn cerfio’r gofeb o bostyn iet dwy dunnell a “achubwyd” o Fferm Caersegan, Tremarchog.
