An excerpt from the County Echo of 1905

June 29th 1905

At Hermon Chapel, Fishguard, on Sunday, a resolution was unanimously passed in favour of establishing an English cause in the town and of giving permission to any of the members who wished to do so to join the new cause. The English services will commence next Sunday at the Temperance Hall.

From these first meetings at the Temperance Hall and due to the  unstinting efforts of the  members of Hermon Chapel who joined the new cause, Bethel English Baptist Church was soon established and erected in Fishguard and  officially opened in 1908.
