Meddai Mr Ken Owen, yr ysgrifennydd, bu her neu gystadleuaeth, slawer dydd, gan yr Annibynwyr, i greu panel tecstil neu frodwaith i ddathlu hanes capeli. Mae’n eitha posib mai fel ymateb i’r her hwn y gwnaed y ddau. Pwy fu’n fishi gyda’r nedwi? Wel, mae’n bosib mai Mrs Mattie Francis fu wrth un, neu efallai’r ddou. Yr oedd hi yn ddawnus iawn gyda nedwi ac edau. Os wes rhywun yn gwbod mwy ynghylch yr hanes- plis, halwch i ddweud wrthym. (Yn anffodus, does dim enw ar gewn un na’r llall o’r paneli) Llun 3 – Dyma doriad papur newydd o 1906 yn disgrifio te a chwaraeon Ysgol Sul Y Tabernacl yn Neuadd y Farced ac yn Windy Hall (y fferm lle saif ystad dai Penyraber heddi) | photo 1&2 – On a window sill in Tabernacle Chapel, Fishguard there are two interesting pieces of handywork. Mr Ken Owen, the secretary of the chapel explains that there was a challenge or competition, years ago, among the Independent Chapels, to create textile or embroidery panels to celebrate the history of chapels. It is quite possible that both panels were made as a response to this challenge. Who was the busy stitcher? Well, it is possible that Mrs Mattie Francis stitched one, or maybe both. She was very talented with needle and thread. If anyone knows more about the story – please call and tell us.
