Lota Park- early days

Lota Park-Early days
Sian Jenkins

Photograph taken late 1940s in Lota Park. From left- Ieuan Davies, Gareth Rees and Idwal Owen who recalls the great excitement of being amongst the first children to try out the new slide, swings and roundabout.

In the background is The Unity Hall, B Miles Thomas’ Storeshed, also a small cottage with George Lewis the Blacksmith’s Forge to the rear. The blacksmith had another ‘official’ job in the evenings- he was in charge of putting all the posters and flyers up around the town.
