On Wednesday, 29th June, members of Pentour C. M Chapel sat down to a “knife & fork” supper and social evening held to welcome their new minister, the Rev G. Meirion Williams, his wife and daughter, Jean.
At the supper, to represent other churches were Mrs Wynn Owen, Hermon, Mr A.D Foulkes, Bethel, and Mr Thomas, Tabernacle. Various speeches were interspersed by musical items ably arranged by Mrs E.D Evans. The highlight of the evening was the singing of “Penillion Croeso” written by Mr T.J Williams M.P.S.
The excellent food was prepared by the lady members. After the Minister had responded to the good wishes of the various speakers, the Chapel choir closed with the singing of an anthem.
Thanks David Williams for this information!
