Bethel Sunday School wrote this poem of thanks to Mr Bryan Willetts in 1986 when he was leaving to take up an appointment in Siloam, Swansea.
Five years have passed since you were called To be with us in Bethel. These years we hope, have been so good You’ll look on them as special.
Five years in which you’ve undertaken God’s message to reveal. Five years into which you’ve thrown yourself With devotion and with zeal.
We hope it’s been five years in which, You’ve gained deep satisfaction. A happy time on which you’ll Reminisce with great satisfaction.
Perhaps there might have been some days When things were not all rosy, There may have been some ups and downs When things haven’t been all easy.
But guided by God’s loving hand They will not overcome you. Be strong in God, trust in his love He’ll always be right by you
We hope though that most of your days Are full of joy and cheer As you go about your daily tasks In places far and near.
We thank you for the care and interest In our Sunday School you’ve shown And we’re glad of this opportunity To make our feelings known.
We cannot go without giving Your family a mention To be loyal, willing, loving too Is always their intention.
So thank you for the last five years We’ve had good fun and laughter. And we hope the future years will be As happy ever after.
