Roedd siop Morse rhwng Capel Bethel a’r Theatr. Enw’r adeilad oedd ‘Commerce House’. Yn ddiweddarach, daeth yn siop fferyllydd Mr Jackie Thomas ac wedyn Fferyllfa Morys Pritchard. | This is a photo of Jim Morse and Jackie Gillard, butchers in ‘Morse Butchers’ shop, West St, Fishguard, around 1945. Jim’s daughter, Carol Morgan, remembers that her mother always put fresh flowers in the shop window. Looking from the window, customers would see the door of the ‘Temperance Hall’ (Theatr Gwaun). Morse’s shop was between Bethel Chapel and the Theatre. The name of the building was ‘Commerce House. Later, the building became Mr Jackie Thomas’ chemist shop and then Morys Pritchard’s Pharmacy. Having finished working with Jim Morse, Jackie Gillard opened his own butcher’s shop in High Street – where Mrs Brown’s Wool Shop is today. |
