Bus crash at the Red Bridge

Service terminated!
Dyffryn, Red Bridge Bus Crash
Keith Bean

The bus crash into the “Red Bridge” on Wern Road was on 10th November 1952 and every seat on the bus was broken. 17 passengers were taken into hospital.

The bus was the relief bus from Cardigan Fair heading towards St David’s but would only travel as far as there were passengers to drop off! Sadly that night it did not get beyond Goodwick.

  • I recall this accident happening. Luckily was not on board that night. A couple of years later, when I worked in Trecwn, a lady from Trefin in the Ratefixing Office had been on board, and was still suffering from back problems as a result.
