Walter John Jones was born in Neyland but moved up to Goodwick when the harbour opened and worked for the GWR as a crane operator until his retirement. He and his wife, Mary, who was local girl, lived for many years in Plas y Gamil Road.
Walter came from a railway family in that his father had also worked for the GWR.
