A posh perambulator

pram from around 1905
Similar pram in V & A Museum

This young baby was fortunate to be travelling in what was almost a “Rolls Royce” of perambulators!! Made with a wood and metal frame, leatherwork upholstery and reed work decoration this was indeed a five star baby carriage.

Who the occupant was is not known but someone might recognise the ornate garden fencing just behind the pram – in the background can be seen Fishguard and Goodwick small station and so this house and garden must be on the hill directly above.

A very similar style pram is to be found in the V & A Museum in London and is from around 1905.

The photographer was Mr D E Llewellyn of Goodwick.
