S S Precurior

This was a dredger owned by the British Dredging Company and built to the design patented by Otto Fruhling in 1904. It used a suction dredging method which was able to create a level depth unlike previous suction dredging methods which often resulted in deep holes or shelves being formed. This was obviously an important advance in the development of the harbour and quay side areas.
