Goodwick. The Old Bridge.

The Old Goodwick Bridge
Fishguard Bay Hotel Collection

An unusual photograph of the houses at the bottom of the shortcut leading up to Fishguard from Goodwick Parrog. The view of the old bridge was taken before the road to Goodwick was realigned and the bridge itself altered to just one span over Goodwick Brook or the Drim River! On the skyline on the RHS can be seen the houses of Heol Dyfed and on the LHS the large building, consisting of two houses, Kenvor and Uplands, which would eventually become the Little Flowers Convent. The Fishguard Foundation was established in Fishguard in 1918. Today, the premises has been extensively enlarged and is better known as St Theresa’s Rest Home.
