New Hill Villas -the Cw (New) Hill Goodwick
The footbridge leading up from near the jetty to Quay Road in Goodwick still exists, although much modernised. Having crossed the bridge, a right turn on Quay Road leads to the Fishguard Bay Hotel, and turning left on Quay Road leads under the four New Hill villas in the photograph, to Goodwick Square. In the past, the large building to the RHS of the villas was used as an annexe to the Fishguard Bay Hotel and is thought to have provided accommodation for the hotel’s staff rather than for an overflow of guests? Today, the annexe and the villas are used as private residences and give their owners the benefit of wonderful sea views from their elevated position on the Cw or New Hill leading up to Harbour Village
From Quay Road, a further very steep flight of steps leads up between the RHS of the villas and the annexe. These would have been in constant use in the past by the harbour workers on their way to and from Harbour Village.,
