'P.S. Waverley' yn Wdig / at Goodwick.

Llong stêm y ‘Waverley’ yn ymweld â Wdig – ond pryd oedd hyn? Wrth bob sôn, ymwelodd y llong â Wdig ddwy waith, ond oherwydd problemau yn dod heibo  Penrhyn Dewi, ni ddaeth eto.

The ‘Waverley’ by the harbour wall at Goodwick – It is recalled that the Waverley called at Goodwick twice, but, following some problems rounding St David’s Head, she did not  call again.

Thanks to Rachel Davies, we now believe the Waverley called in the early 1990s – Rachel was one of the passengers and recalls that the PS Waverley went out to Strumble Head and then into Cardigan Bay where the sea conditions were more favourable.

‘P.S.’ = paddle steamer

  • The Waverley is still actively ” paddling ”
The steamer has been restored and saw her last week in Rothesay, Isle of Bute on her way back to the Clyde.
Beautiful condition and wonderful sound when under way.

  • Think it was the early 1990s as I’m in the photo. We went down as far as Strumble Head and then headed into Cardigan Bay where the sea conditions were more favourable.
