1 ) This group of musicians, dated about 1911 was Goodwick’s first Brass Band. The only identifiable people are Mr Morgan D. Lake, sitting in the front row holding the conductor’s baton, and Mr John Gough the drummer on the far LHS. / Cerddorion o 1911 – Band Pres cyntaf Wdig. Gwelir Mr Morgan D. Lake yn eistedd yn y blaen yn dal ffon yr arweinydd. Mr John Gough yw’r drymiwr ar y chwith.

The band’s instruments were stored at Goodwick Community School/Ysgol Gymunedol Wdig, where the practise sessions were held.
After a gap of many years, the band was reformed in the late 1980’s. Today, it is very successful and the winner of many awards Wedi bwlch o flynyddoedd mawr, ailffurfiwyd y band yn yr 1980au hwyr. Heddiw, mae’n arwain y blaen ac wedi ennill nifer o wobrau

We believe this photograph was taken in 1911 . The bass drummer is John Gough ( far left ) and he is also in the photograph of ‘Unknown musicians’ on this website. We still have this bass drum in the Bandroom in Goodwick !
