The 1902 coronation of Edward VII and Alexandra, and the 1911 coronation of George V and Mary led to many different celebrations at Goodwick. Evidence of them is available to us in the pages of the local press. It is not known where Coronation Stores in Goodwick was located. Does anyone have any more details please? | Arweiniodd coroniad Edward VII ac Alexandra yn 1902 a George V a Mary yn 1911 at lawer o ddathliadau gwahanol yn Wdig. Mae tystiolaeth ohonynt ar gael i ni yn nhudalennau’r wasg. Nid yw’n hysbys ble roedd Coronation Stores yn Wdig. Oes gan unrhyw un fanylion os gwelwch yn dda? |

J.M. Llewelyn was my grandfather and Eileen Llewelyn is my late cousins wife
Think Coronation Stores had a change of name to Commercial Stores and was next door to J. M. Llewelyn’s grocers shop in Main Street. This dates back to the 1930’s and 1940’s. Mr. Arthur Davies was my late mother-in-law’s father.
Can’t add much as it was before my time. The shops I do remember @ 1948 were:
Cunard Bakery – corner of Quay Rd.
D Betty – Butcher – Quay Rd
Hope and Anchor pub.( still there I think)
Milk bar – near pub- @1951
D Evans – Chemist – The Square
Panting – Hairdresser – Main St.
Neyland(?) – Hardware – Ditto
Barclays Bank – Ditto
