This flight of steps looks much the same today and would have been in regular use as a short cut, when workers from Fishguard and Goodwick Harbour toiled up them to their homes in Harbour Village (Pen Cw). Once at the top of these steps, another steep hill faced them, the New Hill, or Pen Cw Hill.
