| The large banner at the back of the large group photograph, tells us that this is Goedwig Sunday School/Ysgol Sabothol Goedwig. Are they on their annual outing? The sticker on the top of the photograph gives an approximate date of C 1910 and also someone has identified and named 3 people from the group. The 3 names are difficult to read, can anyone help to identify any members of the group? Probably the Sunday School have not travelled very far, most likely they are sitting in a field near to the chapel or in the Drim! The portrait shows Reverend J S Davies who was installed as a minister at Goedwig in three days of installation services between 30 July – 1 August 1906. He was born in the Carrog area, near Corwen. It is possible that he is standing among the Sunday School group in the first picture.

Mae’r portread yn dangos y Parchg J S Davies a sefydlwyd yn weinidog yn Y Goedwig mewn tridiau o oedfaon sefydlu rhwng 30 Gorffennaf – 1 Awst 1906. Yr oedd yn enedigol o ardal Carrog, ger Corwen. Mae’n bosib ei fod yn sefyll ymhlith y grwp Ysgol Sabothol yn y llun cyntaf. |
