Goedwig Chapel Sunday School - Ysgol Sul Capel Y Goedwig

Goedwig Chapel Sunday School / Ysgol Sabbothol y Goedwig
Mae disgrifiad llawn o'r cyrddau sefydlu yng ngholofnau y papur newydd, a'r llun wedi ei dynnu gan C Edwards, Abergwaun / There is a full description of the special services arranged for Rev Davies' installment in the columns of the newspaper, and the photo was taken by C Edwards, Fishguard.
'The Pembroke County Guardian' - 9 / 11 / 1906
The large banner at the back of the large group photograph, tells us that this is Goedwig Sunday School/Ysgol Sabothol Goedwig. Are they on their annual outing? The sticker on the top of the photograph gives an approximate date of  C 1910 and also someone has identified and named 3 people from the group. The 3 names are difficult to read, can anyone help to identify any members of the group?

Probably the Sunday School have not travelled very far, most likely they are sitting in a field near to the chapel or in the Drim!

The portrait shows Reverend J S Davies who was installed as a minister at Goedwig in three days of installation services between 30 July – 1 August 1906. He was born in the Carrog area, near Corwen. It is possible that he is standing among the Sunday School group in the first picture.

Mae’r faner fawr yng nghefn y grŵp o bobl yn y llun uchaf yn dweud wrthym mai Ysgol Sabothol Goedwig sydd yma. Ydyn nhw ar eu gwibdaith flynyddol? Mae’r sticer ar gornel y llun yn rhoi dyddiad bras o 1910 ac hefyd mae rhywun wedi adnabod ac enwi 3 o bobl o’r grŵp. Mae’r 3 enw yn anodd eu darllen, all unrhyw un helpu ni i adnabod unrhyw aelodau o’r grŵp?

Mae’n debyg nad yw’r Ysgol Sul wedi teithio’n bell iawn, mae’n bosib eu bod yn eistedd mewn cae yn ymyl y capel neu yn y Drim!

Mae’r portread yn dangos y Parchg J S Davies a sefydlwyd yn weinidog yn Y Goedwig mewn tridiau o oedfaon sefydlu rhwng 30 Gorffennaf – 1 Awst 1906. Yr oedd yn enedigol o ardal Carrog, ger Corwen. Mae’n bosib ei fod yn sefyll ymhlith y grwp Ysgol Sabothol yn y llun cyntaf.
