| This picture of a poet with his eisteddfod chair has a potential connection to Newport.The only message on the back of the picture is ‘To Florrie’. Do you think you can help us identify the poet, or possibly, you may know the whereabouts of the chair? New information! A suggestion has been made that this chair is very similar to the chair of the Barmouth Eisteddfod, 1888, won by the poet Elfed (Howell Elfed Lewis 1860-1953). That chair is cherished at Y Gangell, Blaenycoed, Carmarthenshire, where the poet was born. The picture above is possibly a picture of Elfed in his twenties. The detective work continues!
