Local Labour Party Members

Local Labour Party Meeting

This meeting of the Local Labour Party members would most likely have been held in the Unity Hall near Lota Park. The hall still stands today but in a dilapidated condition, and has not been used for many years. Before the new County Secondary school was completed in 1953, the Unity Hall was used as a classroom by the old Grammar school for it’s overflow of pupils! Gymnasium equipment was also stored in the Unity Hall, all of which had to be moved into place for “Gym” lessons

In the middle row of the photograph can be seen Mr Desmond Donnelly who served as Pembrokeshire’s MP between 1950 and 1970 ; his wife Rosemary is sitting next to him.
