An important family occasion was the wedding day of the eldest daughter of the family. A lovely description appeared in the newspaper. / Achlysur pwysig yn hanes y teulu oedd priodas y ferch hynaf. Ymddangosodd disgrifiad hyfryd yn y papur newydd.

Thomas Owen and his wife Mary Ann raised a large family of 12 children at 1 Bank Terrace, The Slade, Fishguard. Thomas’ occupation on the census is recorded as a wheelwright, carpenter and poacher.

Sisters / chwiorydd – Eleanor (Davies), Mary Ann (Phillips), Martha (Strawbridge), Maggie Lizzie (Morgan), Elva (Hall) & Sarah Jane ‘Sally’ (Lewis).

Baby John died at just 1 years old, and James aged 11 in an accident at Slade Beach in 1904.
