Tomi'r Dwr - Harbwrfeistr / Harbourmaster

Who knows when and who was appointed as the first harbourmaster at Fishguard? (Mr Thomas H Evans lived at No. 1 Bridge Street in 1939, and he was ‘harbourmaster and Lloyd’s Agent’). That aside, this article is a report on an event in honour of one who held the post for 33 years. He was well-known and loved by everyone. The report is from the County Echo for June 7th, 1973.

Mae Tomi hefyd i’w weld yma –

Pwy sy’n gwybod pryd a phwy gafodd ei benodu fel yr harbwrfeistr cynta’ yn Abergwaun? (Yr oedd Mr Thomas H Evans yn byw yn Rhif 1 Stryd y Bont yn 1939, ac yr oedd ef yn ‘harbourmaster and Lloyd’s Agent’). Ta beth am hynny, dyma hanes anrhydeddu un a fu yn y swydd am 33 mlynedd. Roedd yn gymeriad adnabuddus a hoffus gan bawb. Mae’r adroddiad yn dod o’r County Echo ar gyfer Mehefin 7fed, 1973.

Tomi is also seen in this post-
