This well respected lady was often seen in Letterston and the north of the county. Think she travelled by horse and cart.
She would call at my grandparents’ bakery and ask for a loaf of bread and a bottle of tea. In return she offered wooden pegs and when babies had just arrived, there was always a piece of lace in a screw of newspaper!
