  • A bit before my father Percy Boyle started at Trecwn, I think he was there 1949-54, then transferred to RNAD Lodge Hill till 1960, then RNAD Priddy’s Hard and others in Gosport till his retirement in 1983.
I was born in 27 Church Road Llanychaer, Flats, delivered by Nurse Phyllis Page the wife of Mansel Page, pictured front row 2nd from the left, they remained friends over the years and visited us in Kent which must have been an epic journey in the 1950’s in a car. Mansel was a prisoner of war in Singapore in WW2 and caught Malaria, he had a resurgance of it with us in Kent, apparently there’s a strain of Mosquito on the marshes that set the malaria off again – he was ok, our Doctor treated him and they went back to Letterston, Later we visited them when they lived in Freystrop, early 1960’s.
