Bydd rhai ohonom yn cofio am siop Mr Paul Turner yn Abergwaun, fel y lle i brynu cerddoriaeth ar ffurf ’45’ neu ‘LP’ slawer dydd. Agorodd ‘Turner’s’ ar gornel Penslad ac wedyn symud i High Street. [Bu tan yn yr adeilad hwnnw, ac fe fu’n rhaid ailadeiladu y siop cyn iddo ailagor fel ‘Turner’s’]. Cyn hynny, wrth gwrs, y ‘wireless’ we’n boblogaidd yn yr 1950au, ac roedd rhain ar gael yn Castle House ar Sgwâr Abergweun – fel y mae’r hysbysebion o’r ‘County Echo’ yn dangos. Yr oedd gan y teulu Lange siop debyg yn gwerthu recordiau- fel mae’r llun gwaelod yn dangos.

Some of us remember Mr Paul Turner’s shop as being the place to buy ’45s’  and ‘LPs’ in the 1970s. He opened his first shop at the corner of Penslade but relocated to premises in the High Street. [Previously, this High Street building had been damaged by fire and had to be rebuilt]. However, in the 1950’s of course,  the ‘wireless radio’ was the ‘in thing’, and these were available at Castle House on Fishguard Square, as the adverts in the ‘County Echo’ proved. As the last picture shows, the Lange family sold similar technology in West Street.
