The official opening of the children’s paddling pool at Goodwick was performed in May 1967 by the Chairman of the Fishguard and Goodwick U.D.C, Mrs. B.M.Timothy and Chairman of the Fishguard and District Round Table, Mr.Roy Morris.

The children’s paddling pool was paid for by the Fishguard and District Round Table and the labour provided by the Council. The building of the pool, costing one thousand and eight hundred pounds, was the culmination of many fund raising efforts by the Round Table.
The June 1st 1967 edition of the ‘The County Echo’ reported ‘instead of having to dip into ratepayers pockets, Fishguard and Goodwick Urban Council have been placed in the unusual situation of having someone else provide a much appreciated amenity’.
