Troi'r cloc yn ôl / Turning back the clock

Mi fyddai wedi bod yn ddiddorol iawn cael awr yng nghwmni Mr B R Lewis, slawer dydd. We ganddo stôr o wybodaeth am hanes yr ardal. Yn ffodus iawn, mae ganddon ni dipyn o’i arbenigedd mewn toriadau papur newydd o’r ‘County Echo’. Anfonodd ‘BR’ erthyglau atynt yn achlysurol. Yn y toriad hwn o 1952, mae ganddo wybodaeth am adeiladu’r Cei yn y Cwm, Pentowr slawer dydd, trysor Glynymel a hen gymeriad o’r enw ‘Neddi Bach’ a fyddai’n gyfrifol am oleuo’r ffordd i’r trigolion rhwng Llanychaer a’r Cwm. Os ewch chi i’r drafferth o ddarllen, cewch eich gwobr.

It would have been a very interesting experience to have an hour in the company of Mr B R Lewis. He was guardian to a host of information about the history of the area. Fortunately, we have some of his expertise in newspaper clippings from the ‘County Echo’. ‘BR’ sent them articles occasionally. In this cutting from 1952, he has details about the construction of the Quay in Lower Town, Tower Hill years ago, the treasure of Glynymel and an old character called ‘Neddi Bach’ who would be responsible for lighting the road for residents between Llanychaer and ‘Cwm’.  If you take the trouble to read you will be we rewarded.
