Philip Davies 1943-2010

Mr Philip Davies, passed away in August 2010 due to the effects of Motor Neurone Disease which he had been diagnosed with during the previous year.

He will be remembered for his energies in researching the Charterhouse lifeboat which served Fishguard at the beginning of the twentieth century. After much effort he located the former lifeboat in North Wales and worked tirelessly to ensure its return to Fishguard,

In addition. Phil was an experienced historian and self published a number of books celebrating the history of the local area, including amongst others, the story of the  Sea Cadets, Fishguard Junior School, Charterhouse and Fishguard Harbour.

As a result of the generosity of his family, we are delighted to be able to share some of Phillip's  research  and photographic collection which hopefully will be a fitting tribute to his memory.
