Casgliad G Eynon Collection
Agorwyd darn newydd o ffordd yr A40 tua 1925. Cyn hyn, roedd pob car, ceffyl, cart, tractor, fan neu lori wedi dilyn yr hen droeon cul i’r chwith o’r llun, dros yr afon a heibio i Allt yr Afon, sydd i weld ar ben y bryn. Yr oedd y gwaith a wnaed yn golygu siwrne mwy esmwyth a diogel i deithwyr. Ond, yr oedd hefyd yn newid cymeriad pentrefi’r Fwrd a Chasblaidd yn llwyr. Roedd yn golygu bod teithwyr yn gallu hedfan ar hyd y ffordd syth!

Ymhlith y bobol ar y dde mae Miss Mary Perkins, post-feistres Casblaidd ar y pryd.

A new stretch of A40 road was opened around 1925. Previously, every car, horse and cart, tractor, van or truck had followed the old narrow bends to the left of the picture, over the river and past Allt yr Afon, which can be seen at the top of the hill. The improvement works meant a smoother and safer journey for travellers. But, it also completely changed the character of the villages of Ford and Wolfscastle. It meant passengers could fly along the straight road!

Among the spectators on the right is Miss Mary Perkins,  who was then post-mistress of Wolfscastle.
