A Mystery Group of Edwardians

This picture was part of a local history exhibition in Dinas in the year 2000. It was wrongly assumed to depict a family group in the village at 2 Bay View, c1910 but the eagle eyes of regular visitors to this website have solved what has been a mystery for some years.

Thanks to Arwel and Lorraine Phillips, the photo has been identified as being Poplars in Dinas – today the property looks a little different as the render has been removed and the garden walls taken away. Around the time the photo was taken, this was the family home of Captain T G Evans although it is not known whether he is the gentleman on the right.

The original owner of the photo, Mrs Mair Davis, has also confirmed that the photo was indeed of Poplars but unfortunately those in the photo are not known to her.

Update On far left is Martha Anne George (née Gronow) wife of Captain David George
