Threshing day, Scleddau, diwrnod dyrni.

Threshing day
Gwyneth Evans

(Cymraeg isod)

This is believed to have been taken at Trecoed Farm, Scleddau on threshing day.

Mr Thomas Evans can be seen seated next to the young lad at the top of the photo.

Some more  of those in the photo have now been identified – many thanks to Anne Parker for spotting her grandfather and other family members.

Far left: Nancy Griffiths with her father, Thomas Griffiths sitting next to her. The young girl on the right is Enid Griffiths who was another of Thomas’ daughters. Thomas Griffiths farmed Trecoed and with his wife, Elizabeth George, had thirteen children of whom Arnold Griffiths, Anne’s father, was one.

Credir i’r llun hwn gael ei gymryd yn Fferm Trecoed, Scleddau ar ddiwrnod dyrnu.

Gellir gweld Mr Thomas Evans yn eistedd wrth ymyl y bachgen ifanc ar frig y llun.

Mae mwy  o’r rhai yn y llun bellach wedi’u hadnabod – llawer o ddiolch i Anne Parker am weld ei thadcu ac aelodau eraill o’r teulu. Chwith pellaf: Nancy Griffiths gyda’i thad, Thomas Griffiths yn eistedd wrth ei hymyl. Y ferch ifanc ar y dde yw Enid Griffiths a oedd yn un arall o ferched Thomas. Roedd Thomas Griffiths yn ffermio Trecoed gyda’i wraig, Elizabeth George, bu iddynt dri ar ddeg o blant ac roedd Arnold Griffiths, tad Anne, yn un ohonynt.

Am gerdd “Diwrnod Dyrni” gan Mr Emlyn Francis, Pencaer, gwasgwch yma.
